Paying for your car
Straight answer: we don't arrange finance ourselves yet. Here's exactly how you can pay us today, and how people usually fund the rest.
What we can take today
- Bank transfer
- The usual way, and the fastest. Faster Payments clear in minutes; anything above your bank's single-payment limit we can split across two days or take by CHAPS.
- Debit card
- In person or over the phone, up to your card limit. No surcharge — adding one to a consumer debit or credit card has been illegal since 2018.
- Cash
- Up to £9,000. Above that we are required to carry out additional money-laundering checks, and frankly a transfer is easier for both of us.
- Part exchange
- Your car against ours, with any outstanding finance settled directly with your lender. Get it valued.
If you need to borrow
Plenty of our buyers arrange their own funding and pay us as a cash buyer, which is often cheaper than dealer finance anyway — a personal loan from your own bank frequently beats a dealer finance rate, and it makes you a cash buyer in the negotiation.
We are not authorised to advise you on that or to arrange it, so we won’t pretend otherwise. Your bank, a credit union or an FCA-authorised broker of your choosing are the people to talk to. Check anyone you deal with on the FCA Register before you hand over any details — that is free, takes a minute, and is worth doing for anybody, us included.
